About Us

We have a small Law Office in Florence Alabama that consist of two Attorneys and three legal assistants. The Florence office has been open since 1998. The cases we handle consist of Bankruptcy and Family Law.

Damon Smith, Attorney Bankruptcy

Mr. Damon Smith began practicing law in Florence Alabama in 1998 and has handled a few thousand cases concerning Bankruptcy and Divorce. He is a 1997 Graduate of The Birmingham School of Law where he received a Juris Doctorate in Law. Damon Smith Graduated from the University of Southern Mississippi in 1992 with a Masters in Social Work and from the University of North Alabama in 1990 with a Bachelor’s of Science in Social Work. He worked as a Therapist and Social Worker in various areas before and during Law School. He went to Coffee High School and Graduated in 1986.

Meredith Turpin, Attorney Family Law

Kay Stevens, Legal Assistant Family Law

Mrs. Kay Stevens has been working at the firm since 1998 assisting with Family Law cases.

Kayla Glock, Property Manager

Ms. Kayla Glock has been working at this office for three years managing rental properties.

Leslie Cooper, Legal Assistant Bankruptcy

Leslie Cooper is Damon Smith and Associates’ newest Legal Assistant. Leslie grew up in central Florida. While growing up her grandparents took her every summer in the camper to travel. By the time she was a teenager, she had been to every state in the United States! That passion for traveling led Leslie to north Alabama, and eventually to Florence. Leslie enjoys her off time with her two teenaged sons. They keep her on her toes! Leslie hopes to soon take the Paralegal exam and continues to work diligently under Mr. Smith’s supervision. She is a rising star!

Amanda Weckerly, Receptionist

Amanda Weckerly is our Receptionist at Damon Smith Associates L.L.C. She was born and raised in Southern California and moved to Alabama in 1999. She has 15 years of excellent customer service experience. Proficient in Excel, Office, Power Point, and Word. She is detail oriented, very dedicated to her work, and meeting the demands of all involved. She loves to learn and is excited to continue growing and building within our law office. She loves spending time with her family in Cullman and seeing her friends as much as possible. She has a love for animals, the beach, coffee, reading, bowling, and relaxing at home watching a good movie with loved ones. She is a true asset to our office and performs amazingly at what her job requires and is always willing to go that extra mile.
